Adoption #2: A Long Road But Getting Shorter

It's been a long, long, long road for LFA for adoption #2.

The journey started with our plan to adopt a sibling group of three. Then our hearts were moved & we inquired about adopting a sibling group of five. Long story short, our home study was then approved to adopt a sibling group of four...and then when we were ready to move on, we got the news about the much-prayed-for-opportunity to adopt two of our children's older sisters! Then our home study had to go through another re-vamping process and another approval.

We have been working to complete our home study since last May. After more strange twists & turns than are hardly believable, more interviews than we care to remember, our social worker submitted a revised 17 page home study for approval.

Well, we are happy to announce that the 17 page Home Study was re-APPROVED!!!!!!!! A significant approval when requesting to adopt "older" children.

Yesterday we mailed our I-800A application to USCIS (U.S. Citizenship & immigration Services) for approval to adopt our new daughters!

When we get that approval back, we'll be almost ready to travel to adopt our new daughters!!!

Timeline: now that we have this major milestone, USCIS approval takes approximately 90 days so then we're guessing that we might travel around late August or early September.
