Karl has been on vacation this week. It's been an absolute delight to be together everyday. It has been wonderfully refreshing. He is a wonderful man. He is a terrific Papi too. I am especially thankful for the way He leads our family. A godly Husband/Father is so vitally important. The Husband/Father is the one who steers the ship and sets the course for what direction the family will sail towards and what values the family will embrace. I praise the Lord for His provision of a Covenant Partner that does a faithful job steering our ship towards the Lord and His ways and who is always maturing in this area! I am a blessed woman!
We are making some important steps towards adopting our future little ones. We took the plunge and ordered Latin American Rosetta Stone (homeschool version so you can track your progress and keep a record of how much time you've spent learning - valuable!!!!!) Now this is important because 1) it is required especially from couples who are adopting sibling groups and 2) we need to learn more and 3) we want to be much more fluent in communicating and understanding our new family members. With this software (we purchased all five levels!), we (parents) should be able to accomplish all those goals and help our little English speaking sweethearts refresh their skills.
Other amazing news we received is that we are being approved for five additional children through our home study/DCFS. We were under the impression that we were "capped" at three. We inquired about the impossibility of adding one more child to our family (sibling group of 4 instead of 3) thinking it was hopeless based on what we had been told. But our social worker called on Wednesday and said she checked with her supervisor and didn't understand how but our license is approved to include five children. We are thrilled, amazed, and petitioning the Lord to see how He wants us to proceed.
As we study God's Word each day, it is becoming more and more apparent that God wants us to live by faith and in dependence upon Him and His awesome provisions and power. Even this week, we have read about how the Lord was displeased with His people relying on their own resources, funds, numbers, understanding - or by limiting their plans or obedience to God's instructions based on their limitations. God asks, "Is the Lord's arm too short?" By no means is He lacking in any way! I pray that we would be a people that follows Our God with childlike faith and trusting obedience. I pray that the way we live our lives would proclaim God's greatness and His incredible ways throughout the whole earth!
