May 15th, 2010 - An arbitrary date we chose as our goal to finish and send in our DCFS licensing/home study packet. When all of the items on the checklist (see previous post) are completed and submitted, then the first home study visit can be scheduled.
The only remaining items are physicals for the two parents and a form that must be filled out to demonstrate that we are physically able to care for children and TB tests/related forms. My appointment is tomorrow morning and Karl's is on Friday - so 2 forms each related to those doctor visits. Karl will go to have his DCFS fingerprints/background check tomorrow, and he has a few paragraphs to add to his autobiography and then it will be finished. Lastly, our required CPR class is next Monday. Our packet is organized, addressed and ready to mail as soon as those few items are inserted. Very exciting!
I thank the Lord for helping us to get so much done so quickly. I am thrilled to almost have this part of the paperwork done and to be moving forward. We think and pray daily for our new family members and wonder who they are and what they are like.
