The home inspection went wonderfully today! It was really interesting and I am so glad we decided to do an inspection.
We will get a report soon but nothing super major was found. The biggest two items of concern were that we couldn't find any of the sprinkler heads for the irrigation system (impacted in the sod?) and were unsure of its functioning and couldn't find where the sump pump drained. Oh, and a dead mole in the egress window - yuck! The termite guy didn't see anything active and we'll get his report soon too.
We learned a lot about the house and the inspector guy gave us lots of helpful hints on how to operate stuff and hints on maintenance, prevention and even future improvements. Money well spent! This guy was an A+!
Current owners were not there so that was good too!!! Claudia and Andres played very nicely while they waited - I am so proud of them!!! The inspection was over 2 1/2 hours.
It was really neat to be in the house and in the yard exploring and knowing that this will be our home soon. I think it will be a great house for our family. Karl seemed really happy too. Only 28 days!
Next on the to-do agenda: get quotes for homeowners insurance and get a policy lined up in advance.
