Our 1st Full Day Together!

It's been a really good day!
  • Woke up and gave all 3 kids baths
  • Mami & Papi also got to shower thankfully!
  • Breakfast together - kids ate heartily
  • Diaper changes
  • Walked to Notary office (outdoor building with tons of people and you PAY to have your stuff notarized) and also took walk around neighborhood. We passed a couple of bird stores and got to see many different birds (no doors - stores are very different here!) It was a lot of fun - Karl carried Andres and Julie and Carmenca pushed the girls in their umbrella strollers. The girls loved it! Little Claudia giggled the whole time and had a grin from ear to ear! That was one of the highlights of my (Mami's) day!
  • Came home and ate lunch - it was much yummier!
  • All 5 of us took a LONG nap! 2 hours for Mami & Papi and 2 1/2 for the kids!
  • Woke up and went together to the mall with Carmenca and her neice Gabriella - it was a good trip & one-stop-shop: we went to the ATM there, got a photocopy, bought KLIM formula for Andres and Calydryl and walked around for leisure too!
  • Got home, kids played and then we had dinner at 6 pm and Mami made her 1st bottle for Andres and we got the kids cleaned up, put pj's on and Papi spent time with Andres who was really tired and needed to go down for sleep and Mami and the girls watched a short Baby Einstein show with classical music and many sea animals. The girls absolutely loved it plus I was able to set the language on Spanish!
  • We put girls down for bed and all 3 were asleep by 9-9:30
  • Mami & Papi are still up but going to bed soon! J

Thank you so very much for keeping up with us and for your comments. They are very special and cause me to become teary with joy. Also, I wanted you to know that I have just a little chocolate on my shirt from Andres' snack at the mall, he turned and wiped his face on me - and I am very proud to have it there! (Tomorrow my shirt will go to the laundry - they do our laundry everyday here, wow! K

What a lovely day it sounds like you all had. It's such a witness to me to enjoy and appreciate the little things with my three kiddos. I'm so thankful that you two are beginning to experience and cherish all of those great blessings God gives to moms and dads through children. You've been in my thoughts so often today. Thanks for updating. Hope you all get great rest tonight. What a beautiful story God is enfolding on the Armstrong family of 5! :)

Great to hear you're all doing great and learning the ropes nicely -- even the kiddos. You are so fortunate they do your laundry each day there... laundry was our most costly expense while in Cucuta & we didn't realize it was so costly until about 12 loads later. Our laundry ran about $50 USD per load -- Crazy, huh??? Needless to say the last 2 weeks we were there, we wore our stains very proudly!!

Great to see the pictures and hear of your updates.
Love, Genece

I have been home from Ethiopia with my 9 month old daughter for a little over a week. I used to change clothes if they got a little dirty. Now I PROUDLY wear the squash and sweet potato stains as a badge of honor.

Love hearing about your journey...the joy of others meeting their forever family never gets old and the tears never stop! Thanks for sharing.
